Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) is a powerful technique for non-invasively measuring the localized neurochemical information of the brain, and has increasing applications in various clinical and pre-clinical studies of brain tumor, aging, brain development, HIV/AIDS, stroke, Alzheimer disease and Huntington’s disease. Several in vivo proton MRS protocols have been developed to access the cerebral metabolite alternations in infant, juvenile and adult rhesus monkey brains on a Siemens 3T Trio at Yerkes Imaging Center.
